SAVE THE DATE: En framtid vi skapar tillsammans!

SoPact Impact Day!

Tuesday the 16th of January, it was time for our entreprenurs to pitch their ideas for a full up audience at Think Open Space on SoPact Impact Day! In honour of the day, we also had two invited guests speaking. First out was Kalle Pettersson, Quality and Development Manager at Helsingborg City, who spoke about digitalization in social work.

After that, Hannah Petersson from Empow’her shared her experiences of sustainable income models, social investment and spread of social entrepreneurship at national and international level. It was a crammed afternoon, where we met both old acquaintances and new contacts where made. A big thank you to all who came and shared this afternoon with us!

In connection to Impact Day, we asked a few questions to the entrepreneurs, including Adam Sarten from EOS Cares, about the most valuable thing he will take with him from the time with SoPact.

“Different opportunities to drive the business forward, especially during the 1-on-1 sessions with Peter and Emelie. Together with storytelling techniques and social media tools. “

Emir Mujezinovic, who together with Nicole Borquez founded the homestyling agency ett hem att trivas i, has also been part of SoPact in the fall.

“The best part of Sopact is to have met the other participants, who were both professional and humanitarian. It has motivated us to stick at and solve the doubts we have had together. They have been very helpful together with the business managers at SoPact. “

We would like to thank the amazing entrepreneurs who we have been given the pleasure of getting to know and together with them, developing their social businesses and ideas.

SoPact is presenting our latest superheroes!

As we are moving into autumn and darker times – we thought this should be the perfect timing to announce the people and the startups bringing a bit of extra light into this world. The fourth edition for the SoPact accelerator program is now running from October to January and there are six fantastic startups participating in the program.

– With Sopact we want to explore the opportunities to identify and support entrepreneurs as well as intrapreneurs who, together with students and researchers, want to develop and spread new methods, tools and services for social work in a changing world with complex societal challenges, says Marcus Knutagård, Deputy Head of Socialhögskolan.

In the beginning of October, we kicked off this accelerator program with an intensive bootcamp experience which really made us see how much fantastic people and potential we have the great opportunity of working with in this round of SoPact. The participating entrepreneurs are active in areas such as integration and health and are all driven by contributing to positive social development.

– We are very proud to have been accepted for Sopact’s accelerator program that comes in perfect time for our startup. All our ideas and loose threads have got more structure and guidance to implement them. Says Emir Mujezinovic, co-founder of ett hem att trivas i, en stad att trivas i

Helsingborg City is one of the co-financiers of the SoPact project and they also enable social entrepreneurs to sit and work in a creative environment at Think Open Space.

– SoPact is a way for the city to create conditions and a context for entrepreneurs with ideas that are socially, environmentally and economically sustainable that can contribute to the city’s vision that Helsingborg in 2035 will be the creative, vibrant, common and global city for people and companies, says Peter Arvebro, responsible for higher education, Helsingborg City.

Emelie Dahlström becomes Program Manager at SoPact

It is Emelie Dahlström who is the latest addition to the SoPact team in her role as Program Manager with responsibility of developing the collaboration between the accelerator program’s social entrepreneurs, Helsingborgs Stad and researchers at the School of Social Work at Campus Helsingborg.

In connection to the start of the fourth batch of the SoPact Accelerator Program Emelie Dahlström starts as Program Manager. Emelie comes immediately from Kodcentrum, a nonprofit organization which works to introduce children to programming and digital creation, without cost. As secretary-general she has built up a national organization from scratch in close collaboration with partners as Spotify, Microsoft, Sigma, Informator Utbildning, Vinnova and Stockholms Stad.

Emelie has a background in international development cooperation and has worked in the borderland between the nonprofit sector and the business sector, among other as project leader at Svenska PostkodStiftelsen. As one of the co-founders of Sweden’s first clothing library Lånegardeoben, she has a special interest for circular economy.

SoPact is a very interesting collaboration project which aims to support entrepreneurs and organizations which are contributing with solutions to local and global societal challenges. Returning to my home region, I look forward to continuing to work with my big passions: social entrepreneurship, meeting people and societal development in a dynamic and progressive region, says Emelie Dahlström.

What problem are you trying to solve?

We are not trying to solve problems, we create possibilities. Depending on who is using the model, these possibilities change. Through the Intentional Decisions-model we facilitate different ways to view these possibilities and help create an understanding for how they affect what choices we can make.

We see the Intentional Decisions-model as a realistic and effective post-industrial society model. What that means is that people and organizations have for a long time aimed at being the best in the world, but it is becoming more important to be the best FOR the world. This paradigm shift is something that the Intentional Decisions-model can make happen faster and help create awareness about.

What problem are you trying to solve?

We are trying to sort out the tangle of actors, i.e government, banks, housing companies, employers, etc. that “attack” vulnerable individuals with their respective agendas.

How are you going to solve this?

We use human logistics, with which we mean that we solve a logistical problem with people and create effective flows through the jungle of actors in order to navigate people to a life in dignity. Through the platform OIKOS Hub, and with help from the digital processing tool Logi-Key, we lead the way to vindication for vulnerable people.

What problem are you trying to solve?

Swedish students used to be regarded as some of the best in the world, but in the last decade  we’ve  seen a drastic decline in how well they perform. Perhaps most noted is the decline in the PISA rankings, especially in math. It points at a deeply rooted problem which will have long-term effects on the Swedish society and Sweden’s industrial competitiveness in the global world of today. Me myself have dealt with global recruiting and previously experienced Swedish candidates to have a competence advantage against many others, but today it feels more like something is missing. This is a negative trend that we need to do something about.
