As we know, Sweden is one of the leading countries in recycling of PET bottles and aluminium cans for refund. Yet, the past years the recycling rate have slowly decreased among the Swedes. Last year more than 15% of all bottles and cans that were produced were never recycled – meaning 250 millions of bottles and cans. One of the possible hindrance in the recycling system are companies who have a bad waste disposal system installed at the offices and/or kitchen area. Many times there are not enough space for collection or it is observed to take too much time to handle waste sorting. Which results that all waste, including bottles and cans, ends into one bin. Starting at the base of every societal startup. What problem are you trying to solve?

We want to stop the waste that occurs when houses are being torned down because of them being situated on the wrong place. This happend for example when new roads are being built etc. By moving them to a new location instead of demolishing them, human resources in the form of craftmanship is being preserved, as well as 100% of the house. We want to make it possible for people to have solar power at a price cheaper than the utility.

How are you going to solve this? What is your idea?
Through our partners in Brazil we identify attractive solar energy projects, make them financeable, and offer them as business opportunities to investors in northern Europe.
We can offer cost reduction for off-takers in Brazil and interesting returns for northern European investors.

Today it is a problem that we produce and consume more than what the planet can tolerate. We must both produce and consume more sustainable to meet our future and maintain our environment. Our oceans are being overfished in order to turn the fishes into feed for animal production in a non-sustainable way. We also have a food waste system that is not fully used where we can find expand the value chain.

At Pitupi, we’re trying to establish greater transparency in the fashion industry. We’ve gone from a production cycle that not long ago placed a focus on four seasons a year to one that now embraces up to 22. Garment manufacturers are the ones assuming the greatest amount of responsibility in this new “fast fashion” cycle, at the expense of their health, safety, and livelihood. Read more

We are facing a demographic challenge in our society. The age group 80 + is estimated to increase by 30% between the years 2014-2024 and already today there is a huge lack of resources. Health care and home care services will be gradually moved out to the resident’s home and many elderly will need to stay in their homes longer. Our solution is intended to support the elderly in their homes and at the same time help strengthen the home care system. Read more
